In 2009, Bledel starred opposite Scott Porter in the film The Good Guy, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival April 26, 2009. In this, Porter plays a Wall Street businessman whose life begins to fall apart when he helps out a new salesman. Bledel played Beth, Porter's girlfriend. She was also a guest star on the two-hour series finale of ER, playing new intern Dr. Julia Wise.

In May 2009, Bledel returned to the modeling world, signing a contract with the modeling division of IMG.

In 2010, Bledel appeared in the historical drama The Conspirator directed by Robert Redford. She plays the wife of Frederick Aiken (James McAvoy), the lawyer who defended Mary Surratt, the first woman to be hanged in the United States, played by Robin Wright. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and is expected to hit theaters in spring 2011.

Also in 2010, Bledel completed work as the lead actress in the independent Canadian film The Kate Logan Affair. The film was presented at Montreal's Festival du Nouveau Cinéma 2010.

Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter (Pacific Coast News)One of Hollywood's hottest couples is no more: Actress Minka Kelly and baseball star Derek Jeter have called it quits after three years together. The actress' rep confirmed the news to People magazine.

"They care about each other and it was amicable," says a source. "They're still friends."

While no official statement has been released by the couple, we can easily see this being an "our schedules got in the way," or "the distance was too much" kind of split. After all, Jeter is constantly training and traveling with the Yankees (Kelly watched him get his 3,000th hit this summer), while she is busy filming the upcoming Charlie's Angels TV reboot.

While these two have never been forthcoming with details about their relationship, there weren't any indications that there was trouble in paradise. In fact, the couple most recently dodged another round of engagement rumors. They also joked about the actress' lack of baseball knowledge not long ago. Perhaps that was the problem.

Kelly and Jeter began dating in May 2008 and each have a long list of high-profile exes. The Yankees stud has been linked to no shortage of beautiful women over the years, including Mariah Carey, Jessica Alba, Adriana Lima, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, and more. John Mayer, Chris Evans, and Donald Faison have reportedly dated the brunette actress.

Marat Safin and Dinara Safina

I have never been a big fan of Maria Sharapova’s tennis. I prefer fellow Russian Dinara Safina, who I like to nickname ‘Marata’ (her brother being Marat Safin).

Many men will prefer Sharapova for reasons other than tennis but Safina can be more enjoyable to watch on court, especially when it’s clay.

But I have to say I have become fond of Sharapova since Roland Garros started last weekend.

Her commercial approach and the new Tiffany earrings she wears just for the tournament are not to everyone’s liking but there is so much more to Sharapova and it’s not on www.mariasharapova.com.

She may live in the U.S. but she still has some hard-working Russian blood running through her veins and that’s exactly what she has been showing in Paris for a week.

Sharapova, wearing a pretty blue dress, has battled past Anastasiya Yakimova of Belarus, compatriot Nadia Petrova, Kazakh Yaroslava Shvedova and China’s Li Na.

Whatever happens in the quarter-finals, her tournament will be a success. Back from a nine-month injury layoff, she discovered what it was like to start a grand slam as world number 102.
